The following pages have been designed to assist Officers understand the Greening of Policing over the last few years. The aim is to provide Officers both new to the policing fraternity and old hands information on the development on their roll in protecting the environment.
As most police officers will attest policing has change greatly over the past few decades. The old days of the Marshal or Sheriff in the US or the local Bobby in England has been reinvented time and time again.
To understand this you need to look to the past to see where we have been which in turn, helps and guides us to understand the future.
Over the next few pages we explore the history of policing and law enforcement in general and more specifically unpack the way in which police have been challenged and changed to cope with an ever evolving society.
